I have been finding Turkish olives are becoming more popular here lately and have been enjoying the unique smooth buttery flavours. Mostly I am finding them at grocery stores where they are priced below most of the other olive products. Still waiting for some oil to appear though. In Canada people are beginning to demand healthier foods that are either local or imported in a way that is sustainable to their communities. There is a lot of opportunity for olive oil.
Here is an article my friend Rasheeda wrote for the Hindu Business Line in Chenai, India after visiting Turkey. Although a little out of date now, it may still interest you.
Hi Atilla We import Olive Oil from Italy to the US and our website is CampoBelloDoro. My son is studying the Turkish language at university here in the US. I have been to your wonderful country but only to Istanbul where I visited the Pera Palace Hotel, the Grand Bazaar. the Haga Sofia, the Blue Mosque, Topkapi Palace(my very favorite). We had wonderful food and we had a marvelous time (August 2000). I know that I will return many times.I enjoy your photos.
